Warning: Popular Snack Recalled In Florida Poses Serious Health 'Hazard'

Riverside Natural Foods Inc. recalled "certain batches of MadeGood granola bars" on Monday (December 9) due to the "potential presence of a piece of metal in the product."

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, consuming metal pieces "may result in a safety hazard."

The recall pertains to "Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, Mixed Berry Granola Bars, Strawberry Granola Bars, Cookies & Crème Granola Bars, Chocolate Banana Granola Bars, Chocolate Drizzled Birthday Cake Granola Bars, Chocolate Drizzled Cookie Crumble Granola Bars, and Chocolate Drizzled Vanilla Granola Bars" sold between January and November 2024.

No illnesses have been reported as of Tuesday (December 10). Recalled products (listed on FDA.gov) were distributed to grocery stores across America including those in Florida.

Health officials are urging consumers who previously purchased one of the recalled products to throw them out immediately and avoid consumption. Products that feature a "Z" after the Best By Date are not included in the recall.

Concerned individuals can contact the "MadeGood Consumer Hotline at 855-215-5695 between 8am and 5pm EST" and can visit the MadeGood website for answers to their questions.
