The Houston Astros (45-47) shut out the Tampa Bay Rays (52-34) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in Houston. With the loss, the Rays dropped the series and lost two in a row after winning the previous nine straight.
Peter Lambert kept the Rays off the board, pitching five and two-third shutout innings in which he allowed three hits while striking out six and walked one. Mason Englert took the loss for the Rays, allowing solo homers to Christian Walker and Isaac Paredes.
