Lightning Beat Stars, Extend Point Streak To 13

The Tampa Bay Lightning (30-13-4) defeated the Dallas Stars (27-13-9) 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at American Airlines Center in Dallas. With the win, the Lightning have now earned points in their last 13 games.

Jake Guentzel had a goal and an assist to lead the way for Tampa Bay. After Dallas got on the board in the first period with a goal from Oskar Back. Dominic James scored to tie the game 1-1, which would be the score after one period of play. In the second period Brandon Hagel scored his 23rd before Jake Guentzel scored his 21st to give the Lightning a 3-1 lead. Pontus Holmberg added an empty netter late to turn it into a 4-1 final score.

Andrei Vasilevskiy went 19-of-20 in net to earn his 20th win of the season in net for Tampa Bay. With the win, it is now Vasy's 10th consecutive season with at least 20 wins, becoming the sixth goaltender in NHL history to accomplish the feat. Jake Oettinger took the loss in net for Dallas, saving 22 of the 25 shots he faced in net.

The Lightning now return home and will play the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Sharks is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday night at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa.
