  • Question: Boss bought bootleg tires for our trucks from China. Then in one week I had a blow out and an accident. I am out of work because of the injury, do I have recourse?
  • Answer: Yes, safety should be the number one priority. You have a couple of options such as Worker’s comp. depending if you are part-time or full-time employee.
  • Question: I got injured, it was a herniated disc and the adjuster offered $14,000. Lawyer is still at $90,000. Seems like a stale mate, do you have any advice?
  • Answer: It is not unusual to do that kind of give and take. However, if the lawyer has been sitting on that number for a couple of months and has not discussed filing suit, you may want to seek other legal representation.
  • Question: We got T-boned and the other driver was ticketed. Told his insurance that everyone was ok and joked that they didn’t have to worry about us suing. After a day or two the pain kicked in. Did I screw up by telling his insurance company we were fine? We spoke to them an hour after the wreck happened.
  • Answer: No, it’s not unusual. Quite often what happens, a person’s adrenaline kicks in and people don’t realize that they’re injured. Remember you have a 14-day time frame to see a doctor and report injuries. You do have a case moving forward, feel free to contact us.

Jeff’s closing comment:

When I was in California, we got a lot of commercials where attorneys were offering to cut their attorney fees. Be careful, pay attention, and understand the numbers. They are not as accurate as you would like them to be. For instance, they may state that they will take off 10% when it is really 3% off the total amount, and it’s normally before they file.
