Song Featuring Late Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Released

Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton has released "Cross Off," the second single from his upcoming solo album Anesthetic. This track features vocals by late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington. "Cross Off" was recorded in April 2017 and written by Morton, Bennington, Jake Oni and producer Josh Wilbur. Bennington took his own life three months later at his home in California.

Morton, Wilbur and Oni began writing the song before approaching  Bennington about singing on it. Bennington loved the tune and came to  the studio with additional ideas and lyrics that, in addition to his  vocal style, helped shape the final product.

Morton told Metal Hammer magazine about working with Bennington, "(Chester) just had a lot of creative input at the ready  when he came into the studio . . . I was really impressed for a guy at  his level, at the place in the career he was at, someone of his stature and celebrity, to have that level of humility and commitment to come in there and treat this like it would be a Linkin Park song, or his own song, or whatever. I was pretty blown away by that."

Other guest singers on Anesthetic, which is due out March 1st, include Lamb Of God's Randy BlytheJacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach, Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy, Josh Todd from Buckcherry and more, while musicians contributing to the disc include Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga, Korn drummer Ray Luzier, Alice In Chains bassist Mike Inez and others.
