Highly Suspect Previews New Album with Two New Songs "16" & "Upperdrugs"

New song ... LOADED 100%. Highly Suspect is preparing to drop their brand new album MCID on November 1st, but the rock trio from Cape Cod is previewing their new music with not one, but two brand new songs from the LP, "16" and "Upperdrugs."

In a statement, the band tells iHeartRadio of their new song "16," "'16' is about a first love and a moment of instant heartbreak. The lyrics describe the true story of lead singer Johnny Stevens falling in love at sixteen years old, fostering a relationship for seven years, and feeling elated when she told him she was pregnant with their baby. The song describes his instant devastation the moment of the birth when he found out that the baby wasn't his, the baby was a different race. Though a wild story, the lyrics capture the gut wrenching feeling of first love lost, betrayal, and regret." They add, "This is a song about heartbreak in the worst way you can possibly imagine."

MCID follows Highly Suspect's 2016 sophomore album The Boy Who Died Wolf and will showcase 16 new songs in total, including "16" and "Upperdrugs."

As for what fans can expect from the Grammy-nominated band's upcoming record, frontman Johnny Stevens says of MCID, "The new album centers around themes of self loathing, substance abuse, image issues, addressing my past and changing my future, with a sprinkle of anti-Trump, false social media worship heartbreak, hope, depression and suicide. It also touches on the pressures of fame and how I won't play into it."

Fans can catch Highly Suspect as they tour the US, beginning August 22nd in Omaha, NE, and stopping in cities including Columbus, Oklahoma, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Detroit, Brooklyn, Nashville and more, before wrapping up on November 23rd in Atlanta. The band will then head to Europe for a few dates throughout the end of November and early December.
