Some Airline Fares Won't let You Stow Baggage Overhead

At least 3 major airlines, including United, American, and Frontier, said if you get the cheaper ticket -  your carry-on HAS to be under the seat. If you get to the gate and have something bigger - then you will have to pay for it there are the gate.
