Officials believe storm water from Hurricane Irma caused the hole to form. It's located behind Apopka Memorial Middle School and takes up part of the West Orange Trail.

The City of Apopka responded Wednesday morning to a very large hole that opened in the area behind Apopka Memorial Middle School, eating up a section of the West Orange Trail. The hole - located north of Votaw Road and south of McCoy Village Court - appeared to be caused by storm water from Hurricane Irma. Lake Mcoy is east of there. Residents are urged to stay away from this immediate area.
